Our challenge this Wednesday is to be physically stronger at sundown than we were at sunrise.
The National Weather Service tells us sunrise is 7:32 am and sunset is 6:12. That gives us a full 10 hours and 40 minutes to get this challenge done.
How to get stronger in a single day? By doing 2 minutes of pushups, 3 times throughout the day, eating protein, and drinking water.
The best way to get in as many quality push-ups as possible in two minutes is to do them in sets of five: do five, sit back on your heels and shake your arms out, do another five, and so on. If five is a struggle, do them in sets of three or four. For comparison purposes, you can also try doing as many as possible all in a row, then shake your arms out and finish out the 2 minutes in sets of 3 or 4. You can change up the kind of pushups you do through your three efforts. What’s important is the quality of movement and breaking up your pushups in a way that lets you get the most out of 2 minutes.
Spread out the three efforts as much as possible throughout the day, to give your body maximum recovery time. During that recovery time, eat protein and drink water. Also, at the end of each 2 minute effort, you must roar like a lion. That part is very important.
That’s it. Isn’t it kind of amazing to know that you will be stronger at sundown than you were at sunrise? Not just you individually, but us collectively. Let us know in the comments anything you noticed or learned in your three efforts.
Now go get stronger, you queer lions of the universe!

Done. And…most exciting of all…I was able to do most of these pushups from a full plank position—not from a chair or from my knees—which I have never, ever been able to do before!

All done. I noticed that I could actually do more push ups in two minutes than I thought even though I didnât roar like a lion!

Done during Vagina Monologues rehearsal ! And this morning while babysitting – my toddler asked me: “why is your plank moving up and down?”
