Double the points all week this final week (so 2 points for completing the challenges, 6 points for the workouts), in a last, desperate burst for the finish line.
Monday’s challenge: start with 5 sun salutations. Then throughout the day:
1000 lunge steps (500 each leg).
You can either count the lunge steps (good luck with that – you’ll need to figure out how you’re going to keep count), or you can simply lunge step everywhere tomorrow and count the number of people who ask you what the hell you’re doing.

Ok I can’t do anymore. Have been lunging around since this morning. Mostly Ive just noticed my loud rice crispy sounding knees that crack upon each lunge. Doing it in public (down Peachtree in midtown to be exact) was really hard. Not because I received stares but because people weren’t all that surprised to see a tall brown masculine figure “working out” in some way in public. It actually feels like it made me fit into some stereotypes that have been a lifelong fight. Two people asked if I played basketball (for Georgia Tech no less) which is a question ive always gotten throughout my life. This assumption that that sport is all a body like mine is good for, is not only the reason why I don’t like basketball, but also just speaks all kinds of volumes about assumptions and stereotypes about bodies and race. Anyway meh.

Haha! I used to get asked this all the time when I was an androgynous prepubescent looking kid. I was the same height I am today at 12 year old so it felt super awkward.

This was really hard! I got 250 done while walking Cash this morning and another 250 walking around my house and to and from my car and while stopped at stoplights during my run. Then I got online to post my success and realized we had to do 1000, not 500! So I timed myself and found out I did 15 lunges in 30 seconds. So I did lunges while reading. Then walking to my car and back and the laundry room and back and bunch around my house (I worked from home today so not many public lunges). BUT! As with other public challneges, any time I did them in public I had a daydream that the people seeing me doing lunges also saw other QFr’s doing public lunges and tried to figure out why. Perhaps it’s National Lunge Day!?? Perhaps this is a new dance step!? Perhaps there’s something in the water!??! 🙂 Either, 1000 done and my thighs are tired.

Check. I did these at the gym during lunch. It was just me lunge stepping around the pull up bars and cable machines in circles. At first I tried to break it up with 50 sit ups after each 100 steps but then I realized that it would take me longer than I had time for. So, I did the remaining 500 straight through. Now, I legitimately think my legs may not work tomorrow. Let’s go Team Shine!

This was truly a challenge. I got the first hundred or so done at home before leaving for work. At work I lunged around the empty break room. Did some more at home And had to stop at 300 for the evening.

Alright that one was harder than I thought it would be! I lunged the whole day, which meant I circled the parking lot 3 times looking for a parking space closer to the entrance. I did do a lot of lunges to the kitchen to get another chocolate easter egg.

This was really hard! I only got few lunges in at home in the morning when I noticed Empish doing hers. Then I did them going out the car. I think I just looked like some guy doing a crazy dance or something. I ended up practically walking in circle in the house, weaving around furniture while watching my reality TV. DONE!

Holy hell. My legs are jello. Today was one of those days where I barely left my house, so I did a lot of lunging in circles around the house doing sets of 50 every time I needed to go anywhere. Everything felt a little further away than I’d considered it before.

Lunge-stepped around the house this morning. Lunged out to get the mail. The mail carrier didn’t even bat an eye. Lol. Got in some at the gym and more after dinner but had to give it up at 700.

DOOOONNNNEEEE!!! I work from home, so the only weird “wtf are you doing” stares I got was from Taryn & Rocket, lol… I had a goal of getting all in before heading to the laundry at 8:30pm, but laundry didn’t happen, so I reframed it to simply have more time to reach my goal😁 I’m used to working from home and going around in circles between my office, the kitchen, my office & the bathroom – but who knew hundreds of lunges could fit in those tiny spaces! Managed to sneak 10 in while pumping gas, but that’s as public as it got for me. Once I was at 800, it was all motivation adrenaline to get to the 1K!

Done. Finished a few at the gym and the rest during the duke vs Wisconsin game. The first few at the gym were hard but the basketball game this evening made the squats easier. I tried doing them all at the gym but that didn’t work after about 250 squats. I think my legs are going to be out of comission on Tuesday evening.

Done too! Called off work today b/c I wasn’t feeling well, but I missed yesterday’s challenge so this one HAD to get done! I took a break from the TurboTax abyss to do 100, another hundred while I warmed up my leftovers from last night with my mom and nephew watching, another hundred during another tax break (not the kind I needed), and the rest…just…now. My back & shoulders are still sore from Saturday, so I’ll probably be low-crawling into the pavilion tomorrow b/c my elbows will probably be the only part of me that isn’t sore! 😉 #TeamShine
