What else could it be?
100 burpees. For time.
You want to pace yourself so that your last 20 burpees are faster, smoother, and sexier than your first 20. GET IT! Then, after you’re done, catch your breath in savasana (lying flat on your back). Take 2 minutes to think about someone (or someones) who helped you through the last 91 days. It could be a fellow queerfitter who helped you through queerfit. It could be someone completely unattached to queerfit who helped you through things that had nothing to do with queerfit.
For 5 points – Team Shine continues to lead in points, but their lead is NOT secure – post your time to the comments AND a few sentences in appreciation of this person (or persons).

Done: around 25 minutes !
Best part about this challenge – doing it in the beautiful rain and thinking of all the people who made me show up for QF92.
Here begins the thank you speech:
To the Coaches – Kung Li, Shay, Jocelyn, Zahra, and Glo – your commitment to self and this group is an inspiration.
To Glo – thank you for all the make ups and encouraging emails and patience.
To Team Shine – your energy, positivity, dedication, humor, and encouragement. I thought I did all of this for me, but in reality, you all became my biggest motivators. To be held accountable to y’all got me off my butt more than anything else. Thank you for even seeing me when I wasn’t there.
To my two closest friends for reminding me to show up because queerfit is one of the only things that make me happy in this city. Okay – cue the tears. I am not close to many of y’all but knowing that there is this space that I can escape to for one hour every week (and two if I don’t have class) and not be judged but openly loved is a blessing. Thank you.
To Lisa for always hugging me at every queerfit and giving one of the best hugs ever !
To Cindy – I only hope that I can make people as awe-inspiring as you do someday.
To the whole group for your videos and comments and laughs and hurts. For always showing up, no matter how life was happening.
And lastly, to my mum and grandmum, whose voices kept ringing in my head telling me to exercise everyday cause ain’t nobody gonna want me otherwise ;p (It’s not as bad as it sounds anymore but a motivator nonetheless!)
Thank you.

Done. I thank Kung Li for organizing Queerfit. I thank my team members who pushed through everything going on in their personal lives, supporting, and being strong for one another. I thank Shay for ALWAYS reminding us that as a community we are all on the same team. The speech she gave that day stays with me even now (too bad it wasn’t recorded!). That’s definitely my #1 take away from this entire experience. So that being said, no matter what label your team carries, no mater what the numbers say, if you want to know who really won just look in the mirror! I’m soooo proud of all of you.

All done. I started doing my birpies at about 930AM this morning and finished at about 230PM. I took my time and did about 20 every hour or so. I would have to say the person that has been the most encouraging during this whole process has been my team captain, Glo. She has been very encouraging especially when it was hard to get some of the movements down. I really appreciate the modifications she came up with when I was having major problems with my right knee and was not sure I could complete certain parts of the challenges.

Okay. 100 burpees with pushups…because my hops and jumps are all but NOT. Can hop to plank, but that’s it.
Time? Um…about a year. Maybe two. I did add some Sun Salutations betwixt and between. Just cuz.
Appreciations–too hard because I honestly am grateful for and to each one of you. I want to get to know every one of you much more, much better as we go along. I want you for my friend.
Plus, with all the brain-wattage of mini-flashlight, I know I’d leave out folks who’ve meant and who mean so much to me.
So, my special shout-outs go to Coaches Glo, Jocelyn, Shea, and Zahra. Hot damn, but all of you are so amazing. Just being around you inspires me.
However, I really need and want to speak to you, Kung Li. You are such an incredible leader. Your own energy, commitment, encouragement, and belief in us are the cornerstones of inspiration. Your politics–and putting them into creative action–give me hope beyond hope. Because of you and because of your leadership of Queerfit, I do feel more ready for the coming revolution. And it will come. It is happening, and we are its gardeners. 1000% do I agree with political commitments that you and other leaders have established, such as the 80% policy; I am grateful that I get to be (and hope to be allowed to be) in the less-than-20%. I look forward to the way we can all push Queerfit to be even more profoundly political. I never would have hooked up intense working out with political action, but now it’s obvious to me. Kung Li, I know that leading us is part of your politics, but I also believe that you (and Glo, Shea, Joceyln, and Zahra) are astoundingly generous. I know it takes time and energy to write your oh-so-delicious blogs (my gawd, Kung Li, can you ever write!!!) and to concoct our workouts. But you do–all of you–brilliantly.
And I am grateful beyond calibration.
I hope that every one of US continues with Tuesdays and Saturdays because if any one of you isn’t there, I’ll miss you.
Onward!!!

Wow-this last challenge of 100 burpees signifies how far I’ve come with QF92. Our FIRST 100-burpee challenge took me ALL DAY. This one took me less than an hour! Forgot to time the first set of 25, but subsequent sets took 1:20, 1:16 and 1:12. Who, me? YES, me!
I’m blessed to have one of the bestest, best friends in the whole wide world to motivate me when I’m not with Queerfit folks-that’s Kimba, the same one I nominated. Everyone needs a BFF who will tell your ass the truth because you need to hear it and cheer you on even when you make the smallest amount of progress.
I knew when I started Queerfit that, IF I stuck with it, it would change my life. Not only has it helped me to change my body, but it has also reminded me of the value I can add to a movement. Sure, we were meeting to exercise and follow instructions and work together, but this is the stuff of champions and we all have work to do in this world that requires strength, cooperation, endurance regardless of weather that starts with just showing up or checking in even if you can’t show up. I’m so proud to have been a part of this and have truly been inspired by each and every one of you who did this (I have specific memories of everyone) despite whatever personal challenges came up. I know for certain I came many times I really didn’t feel like coming and did many more daily challenges with much groaning and fussing, but I DID it. WE did it. I love y’all!

Wow. Reading all of this is making me blush, so I’m just going to try.
First, team shine. I know I got weirdly into our team participation and “winning”. That is because we are the modified team, the beginners team, and the team that just has a harder time with these damn exercises. I am beyond grateful to all of you. In fact, I owe you. You all showed me that *i* could do this. As much as everyone has inspired me throughout, Empish, BT, Ceci, Anushka, Efia and Glo have made it so that I could do this on the psychological level. Thank you all so much for being here with your strength, your brilliance, and your friendship.
I also have to thank the vocal ones: TK, Darci, Lisa, Holiday, Ceci. Y’all made me laugh with heavy weight in my hands, but also helped me feel less like a fool.
Nikki and Eunice! Y’all know why 🙂 my weight twins. I wouldn’t have smiled through it if not for you.
Daniel, Dean, Monaco and everyone else who has ever run with me when I asked–you’ve brought me a lot of joy.
Coaches. I don’t know how to say something that will resonate enough to equal my gratitude for you all crafting and holding this space. Before I saw the announcement for QF92, I was planning to get away from Atlanta for awhile. This place holds a lot for me including a lot of trauma, but when I saw the announcement I knew that if accepted, this program would give me the power not only to stay here, but to heal here. You all mean so much to me, including your adjustments, tough love and occasional disappointment. Thank you for caring, coaching, teaching. I hope I make you proud.

Done. 11:30. I should have done this before going to workout this afternoon. Geez! I did half with and half without push-ups, alternating every 5 or 10 burpees, and resting every 25.
I’d like to shout out my fellow coaches: Shae, Zahra, Glo and Kung Li. Y’all inspire me more than I can write in this post. Special shout out to Kung Li for being our fearless leader, and to Glo for humbly stepping up in so many ways. I know how much behind the scenes work, money, time, and effort y’all put into pulling QF92 off. Watching this all come together makes me want to be a better person. Seriously.
I am also humbled by my entire team. We didn’t run together as much as we planned, but special shout out to folks like Alsie and Darci who told me about running plans they started on their own. And to Eunice for effortlessly running 4 miles with me, even though she’d never done that distance before! Shout out to Dean for reminding me the importance of music when undertaking revolutionary activities, and for beating me in every sprint we ran together. I knew I was getting slow, but damn! And, shout out to my twin, Mary, for balancing running the revolution, being a mamma to the cutest little revolutionary, and participating in QF92. I hope you keep coming, twin!
And, finally, I echo TK’s shout out to everyone on all teams. It has been so inspiring to watch everyone grow in strength, confidence and ability the past 92 days. We are all winners here. Let’s keep this going. I’m excited to keep working out with y’all.

1. I finished everything in 17:14:09
2. Wow, there were lots of people that kept me going. But I am going to make it quick.
The first round were the people who offered me rides to and from Marta or my house every week. Lisa, Glo and Jocelyn and Bill (who needs to join Queerfit.. lol) – I am so thankful you took time out of your schedule on Saturday and Tuesday to make sure I got home safely.
I would also like to thank the coaches for consistently showing up to practice with a smile on their faces and creating new workout challenges everyday.
Oh yeah – Last but not least – team HotDamn for showing up everyday. You guys are amazing!

6:53. I’m very grateful for Team Shine. Everyone kept showing up with the best they had for that day. Everyone gave to the group by supporting each other, making sure we got to the workouts, and checking in with each other. It’s been nothing short of amazing to see these folks show up in the way that they have. And they have inspired me to show up every day too and grow in new and very unexpected ways (like videotaping my dance moves and sharing it with others 🙂 ). I’ve also been inspired by the amazing coaches and feel honored to be part of something so much bigger than us. I’m humbled by the commitment and love that Jocelyn, Shae, Kung, and Zahra bring to the space. And everyone else who has brought it, even when life hit hard. I appreciate everyone and I’m so thankful for this experience.

Workout done in 12:52.
So I just typed up this long loving gratitude for all y’all and how queerfit has been such a centerpiece of my time in atlanta, and how qf92 especially has really helped me through some challenging times these last few months, and how y’all have become like family, and then the internet crapped out on me. And i dont have time to retype it because i have to get on the road now and drive 4 hours back from the beach to be at queerfit in the AM because that’s how much I love y’all.
❤ thank you team.

Done! I also took a couple of hours doing this. Some in the morning. Most in a small room while I waited at the car repair shop. 😦 The last bit just now.
I ditto everything everyone else has said. I was blessed to be on one of the most amazing and supportive teams. Glo I thank you and all of the Team Shine crew…
But every single person was awesome! We did it! We made it! Kung Li for coming up with this idea 3 years ago and being so dedicated. All the coaches who push us, encourage us and are just amazing all around.
I was encouraged and inspired by everyone!

Done. If you all knew how much Queerfit has kept me going these past months you’d cry. I definitely have but it’s been all of you that’s motivated me to push through. I love having a community like you all in my life. We may have been I. Different groups but we’re all a team. Thank you. I love you all.

Done. Had to modify with elevated pushups but got it done in 18:23.
Queerfit has helped keep me going in ways that I can’t even begin to explain. I’m humbled to be part of this community. Thank you to everyone who comes or posts on the blog. Those interactions and posts have kept me going some days.
Thank you to all the coaches who have put in so much time and energy. It’s not easy to come up with the plans, load up your vehicles twice a week, and keep everything and everyone going with your own very busy lives. It’s appreciated beyond words.
Team Lifelift – y’all mean so much. We have held each other through all these days and y’all never stopped motivating and reaching out and being amazing. Big love to all of you.
KungLi, thank you for creating this beautiful and safe space for everyone. Most of my life, I wasn’t ever really a person who worked out or was into fitness. I only randomly dabbled in participating in fitness stuff before finding QueerFit almost two years ago, mostly because it seemed that very bad things happened in most other places. Right before we started QF92, I was reminded yet again how rare and precious this kind of space really is and committed to doing everything possible to support this community. I came into this with a lot of trauma, and am forever grateful that the QF92 community is the healing, loving space that it is. Magical things have happened and keep happening because this group exists and I’m thankful beyond measure. ❤

To be clear, Empish helped me with today’s challenge, and Glo while I’ve been away, Chris, BT, Anushka, and so many other folks throughout for non-QF reasons… ❤️ QF 92 💪!

Done. Throughout the day…out of town at conference so couldn’t time it…
Sending my appreciation to my dad, who the world hasn’t always appreciated…for teaching me lots about fighting for justice and for doing his best during hard times especially in the last few months.
And Kung Li, all the coaches (and my team lead Jocelyn) for masterminding this whole QF thing and keeping QF92 going. It was amazing and life changing. Thank you all so much. It takes a lot of work and commitment to build a community, have a vision, and do the work of making it happen, and we all benefited from it all.
