For those of you in QF Supergroup, see you at Brownwood Park at 6:15. Glo is coaching.
Everyone else, we’re doing this:
12 lunges each leg, your choice of weight held close to your chest
6 pushups
3 burpees
Go 6 minutes.
Rest 1 minute. Then a hard & fast finish doing 2 rounds of:
12 lunges without weight
6 pushups
3 burpees
As you catch your breath, here’s the Chilean-communist-Nobel Prize winner-ambassador Pablo Neruda –
The Dictators
Pablo Neruda
An odor has remained among the sugarcane:
a mixture of blood and body, a penetrating
petal that brings nausea.
Between the coconut palms the graves are full
of ruined bones, of speechless death-rattles.
The delicate dictator is talking
with top hats, gold braid, and collars.
The tiny palace gleams like a watch
and the rapid laughs with gloves on
cross the corridors at times
and join the dead voices
and the blue mouths freshly buried.
The weeping cannot be seen, like a plant
whose seeds fall endlessly on the earth,
whose large blind leaves grow even without light.
Hatred has grown scale on scale,
blow on blow, in the ghastly water of the swamp,
with a snout full of ooze and silence

Done.
And I couldn’t catch my breath. Neruda leaves me breathless.
Wasted.
Determined.

Breathtaking is a good word. For both the poem and the workout. Don’t think I can make it to brownwood tonight, see y’all on Saturday.

Totally agree! But just knowing that you (Roan, Efiada, Moe…) are out there doing these workouts at home helps me to feel a part of a group. Yeah? Thanks to all of you!!!

After a 2 week break, finally made it back to QF…and really felt it! So I didn’t do the exercise, but just a note to say how happy it makes me to get the daily workouts … with the added bonus of the amazing poetry. Thank you.
